Just like every other city, Belgrade is famous for its quirks and peculiarities, some of which are soon about to disappear, others are everlasting and yet others are only emerging. It has been worthwhile to preserve those that are today here before us, around us…

011 - Belgrade Witty Postcards issue is the latest project realized by the Witty Map Team. Like in their previous project Belgrade Witty Map, its authors wanted to refresh the standard range of postcards of the city and to present it in a new dimension. Although postcards are a form of communication that is slowly becoming history due to overwhelming presence of Internet, they are still very convenient to present Belgrade in a rather specific way. The novelty of the 011 issue lies in its sophisticated visual and philosophical value. The concept of this issue has been thought-out so as to exceed the basic purpose of a postcard by way of giving it specific artistic value. Belgrade Witty Postcards are the first postal cards aiming to preserve Belgrade’s most distinctive and appreciated features from the ravages of time. They draw attention to city traces fading away through gradual metamorphosis, such as kafanas and old Belgrade quarters, as well as traits that will be dominant in the years to come, including festivals, St Sava’s Temple and nightlife, or others that are everlasting, like the beauty of Belgrade women or the glory of our sportsmen.

Easily recognizable Belgrade dialing code 011 is a symbolical key designating eleven postcards that make up this issue, at the same time giving them additional value to better represent Belgrade. Visual design of 011 issue is absolutely inventive, illustrating the city in a totally new way, above all with the aim to make Belgrade citizens even more proud of their city, as well as to present it to visitors as a metropolis with charming, jovial and optimistic atmosphere. The postcards have been carefully designed with high esthetic standards, which should change the outlook of the city once and for all.

Although 011issue postcards may serve as a gift or a decoration, their basic purpose as regular postal cards has been kept. The authors would like 011postcards actually to travel around the globe and to represent Belgrade in a way that not many cities in the world are represented in.

  • Women

One of the first impressions visitors have when they arrive to Belgrade is the astonishing beauty of girls and women in this city. It is hard to answer how come they are so breathtakingly beautiful. Most likely, it's a little bit of everything…

  • Temple

Monumental church built on Saint Sava plateau is under construction for 70 years now, and some time soon, when it's finished, it will be one of the biggest Orthodox christian temples in the world.
